L'argumentum ad populum. Analisi approfondita dell'appello all'opinione popolare

This paper focuses on what nowadays is called ad populum fallacy, or argumentum ad populum. The in-depth analysis aims to examine the history, the dominant view and the contemporary approaches to fallacies, around which that argument revolves. It is necessary to evaluate when, where and why, the appeal to popular feelings or opinions is fallacious or not, because plenty of non-logical and non-philosophical issues and questions in our everyday life depend on the status of this research.

Questo elaborato si focalizza su ciò che oggigiorno è chiamato fallacia ad populum, o argumentum ad populum. L'analisi approfondita mira a esaminare la storia, la visione dominante e gli approcci contemporanei alle fallacie, attorno ai quali tale argomento ruota. E' necessario valutare quando, dove e perché, l'appello alle opinioni o ai sentimenti popolari è fallace o meno, in quanto una miriade di questioni e tematiche non-logiche e non-filosofiche, nella nostra vita di tutti i giorni, dipendono dallo statuto di questa ricerca.
