L'interpretazione dialogica bilaterale italiano-spagnolo/spagnolo-italiano in ambito sanitario: considerazioni sul ruolo del mediatore linguistico-culturale

My thesis is about the important role of the linguistic and cultural mediator in the healthcare sector. This person guarantees the communication between the doctor and the foreign patient at the hospital. In the first chapter I talk about the history of the interpretation and, in particular, I analyze the characteristic of the dialogic interpretation and of the linguistic and cultural mediator. In the second chapter I talk about the dialogic interpretation classes at the University and I analyze the dialogic interpretation tests of the students of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, in Seville, where I did an Erasmus Internship. In the third chapter I analyze the main differences between Spanish and Italian and the methods to deal with them. I also address the difficulty of translating medical terminology.
