"Amarostico? Ma che vuol dire?": un'indagine su uso e percezione dell'italiano regionale di Sicilia in due scuole superiori di Agrigento

The present work aims to investigate the use and perception of the variety of regional Italian of Sicily in some classes of the last two years of two secondary schools of Agrigento, and in particular: three fourth classes and three fifth classes of the only linguistic address of the Scientific, Linguistic and Scientific with applied sciences option High School "Leonardo Da Vinci" and three fourth classes and three fifth classes of the "Michele Foderà" Technical Commercial Institute. The process of eliciting the data chosen consists of the administration of a questionnaire divided into two parts, the first of which requires information of a personal data type and also contains questions regarding the dialectal competence, active and passive, of the informants and the second proposes a list of 25 sentences containing traits attributable to different varieties of Italian, or, in addition to the regional and / or panmeridional phenomena, also constructs of the standard and neostandard Italian varieties, in order to solicit a comparison between the different varieties. For each of these sentences, informants were asked to indicate whether they would use it and / or use it in general, if they would avoid it and, if so, when and with whom and, finally, if they would eventually reformulate it in another way. During the first two chapters it was considered appropriate to make some premises on the subject and perspective of research and on the methodology adopted, with particular reference to the history of studies on the concept of regional Italian, to the relationships between the varieties and to the characteristics of the Italian sociolinguistic contemporary repertoire. Chapter 3 contains the main results obtained through the analysis and interpretation of the data collected on the basis of the various variables present in the questionnaire, which were then briefly set out also in chapter 4, which contains the main marginal conclusions of research and in which some space has also been given to some reflections of a social and educational nature.

Il presente lavoro si propone di indagare l'uso e la percezione della varietà di italiano regionale di Sicilia in alcune classi degli ultimi due anni di due istituti superiori di secondo grado di Agrigento, e in particolare: tre classi quarte e tre classi quinte del solo indirizzo linguistico del Liceo Scientifico, Linguistico e Scientifico con opzione di Scienze applicate ¿Leonardo Da Vinci¿ e tre classi quarte e tre classi quinte dell'Istituto Tecnico Commerciale ¿Michele Foderà¿. Il procedimento di elicitazione dei dati che si è scelto consiste nella somministrazione di un questionario suddiviso in due parti, di cui la prima richiede informazioni di tipo anagrafico e contiene anche domande riguardanti la competenza dialettale, attiva e passiva, degli informatori e la seconda propone un elenco di 25 frasi contenenti tratti ascrivibili a diverse varietà di italiano, ovvero, oltre ai fenomeni di carattere regionale e/o panmeridionale, anche costrutti propri delle varietà di italiano standard e neostandard, in modo da sollecitare un confronto tra le diverse varietà. Per ognuna di queste frasi è stato richiesto agli informatori di indicare se la usino e/o la userebbero in generale, se la eviterebbero e, se sì, quando e con chi e, infine, se, eventualmente, la riformulerebbero in un altro modo. Nel corso dei primi due capitoli si è ritenuto opportuno fare alcune premesse su oggetto e prospettiva di ricerca e sulla metodologia adottata, con particolare riferimento alla storia degli studi sul concetto di italiano regionale, ai rapporti tra le varietà e alle caratteristiche proprie del repertorio sociolinguistico italiano contemporaneo. Il capitolo 3 contiene i principali risultati ottenuti attraverso l'analisi e l'interpretazione dei dati raccolti in base alle diverse variabili presenti nel questionario, i quali sono stati poi sinteticamente esposti anche all'interno del capitolo 4, che contiene le principali conclusioni a margine della ricerca e in cui è stato dato un certo spazio anche ad alcune riflessioni di ordine sociale e didattico-educativo.
