Hate speech nei giornali italiani: sviluppo ed analisi di un corpus di titoli annotato

The thesis addresses the hate speech and in particular the features of this phenomenon within the context of Italian newspapers. Taking into account as main case-study immigrants, which are currently among the more often selected target of hate attack in Italy, we have built a corpus that consists of newspaper titles. Moreover we have annotated the corpus by applying an annotation scheme, which, on the one hand, highlights the facets of hate, and, on the other hand, classifies the titles according to their typology of expressed message. Interesting observations about communication and hate speech emerge from an analysis of the annotation also based on the comparison between the work of two different annotators.

La tesi affronta il tema dell'hate speech ed in particolare come il fenomeno si configura nei titoli dei giornali quotidiani italiani. Prendendo come target di riferimento i migranti, cioè uno dei principali bersagli di odio in Italia in questo momento storico, viene costruito ed annotato un corpus di titoli applicando uno schema di annotazione che da un lato mette in evidenza le sfaccettature dell'odio, dall'altro classifica i titoli secondo la tipologia del messaggio che esprimono. Dall'analisi dell'annotazione, basata anche sul confronto del lavoro di due diversi annotatori, emergono interessanti riflessioni sulla comunicazione e sull'hate speech.
