Analisi delle logiche di stoccaggio del sistema di gestione del magazzino in Balocco S.p.A

The essay deals with presenting the methods through which Balocco S.p.A. manages its warehouses and evaluates the impact of the logic used to optimize the storage of goods. The objective of the discussion is to identify the consequences and the related critical issues of the constraints currently in place. The structure of the work includes a brief, but exhaustive, introduction to the concepts of logistics and supply chain, highlighting their fundamental characteristics and differences. The initial chapter concludes with an in-depth analysis of the so-called Warehouse Management System, which contains the notions on the basis of which the practical analysis of the logic of the storage system is carried out. Within the essay, ample space is dedicated to the presentation of the company, briefly describing its product portfolio and outlining the ways in which the flows of materials, goods and finished products are managed within the supply chain. The declination of the warehouse management systems within Balocco S.p.A. allows the peculiarities and critical issues of this system to emerge. In fact, the characteristics, and consequently the constraints, of the company involve the management of a mixed production: seasonal in terms of products such as panettone and pandoro, linked to the Christmas holidays, doves for the Easter period; both continuous for biscuits and wafers. The starting point of the study was the analysis of the storage logic of finished products currently in place. The primary objective was to verify its effectiveness, through the examination of the available documentation and through practical tests, which led to the creation of an iterative model to monitor the progress of the constraints of the warehouse management system on a monthly basis. . Finally, proposals for improvements were made for some of the present logics, in order to take into account the changed business needs.

L’elaborato si occupa di presentare le modalità tramite cui la Balocco S.p.A. gestisce i propri magazzini e valuta l’impatto delle logiche utilizzate per ottimizzare lo stoccaggio delle merci. L’obiettivo della trattazione è quello di individuare le conseguenze e le relative criticità dei vincoli attualmente in essere. L’articolazione del lavoro comprende una breve, ma esaustiva, introduzione ai concetti di logistica e supply chain, evidenziandone le caratteristiche e differenze fondamentali. Il capitolo iniziale si conclude con un approfondimento sul cosiddetto Warehouse Management System, il quale contiene le nozioni, sulla base delle quali, viene svolta l’analisi pratica delle logiche del sistema di stoccaggio. All’interno dell’elaborato viene dedicato ampio spazio alla presentazione dell’azienda dolciaria, descrivendone brevemente il portafoglio prodotti e delineando le modalità con cui vengono gestiti i flussi di materiali, beni e prodotti finiti all’interno della supply chain. La declinazione del warehouse management systems all’interno della Balocco S.p.A. permette di far emergere le peculiarità e criticità di tale sistema. Infatti, le caratteristiche, e conseguentemente i vincoli, dell’impresa dolciaria comportano la gestione di una produzione mista: di tipo stagionale per quanto riguarda i prodotti, quali panettoni e pandori legati alle festività del Natale, le colombe per il periodo pasquale; sia di tipo continuo per quanto riguarda i biscotti e i wafer. Lo studio ha avuto come punto di partenza l’analisi delle logiche di stoccaggio dei prodotti finiti attualmente in essere. L’obiettivo primario è stato quello di verificarne l’efficacia, mediante l’esame della documentazione a disposizione e tramite test pratici, i quali hanno condotto alla realizzazione di un modello iterativo per monitorare mensilmente l’andamento dei vincoli del sistema di gestione del magazzino. Infine, sono state avanzate proposte di migliorie per alcune delle logiche presenti, al fine di tenere conto delle mutate esigenze aziendali.
