My MD research project deals with a hydroarylation reaction catalysed by gold(I) complexes, with the aim of synthesizing benzo-fused N-heterocycles. These products are of great interest and are currently employed in medical and pharmaceutical field. The substrates for the gold-catalysed reaction are lactam-derived enynes, which were achieved by a synthetic path starting from highly available and cheap reactants. Hereafter, different Au(I) catalysts were tested for the hydroarylation, both commercial and home-made in the laboratory. After this, the optimised procedure was employed to extend the scope. This way, we can obtain different functionalized heterocycles which may have practical applications.

Abstract
My MD research project deals with a hydroarylation reaction catalysed by gold(I) complexes, with the aim of synthesizing benzo-fused N-heterocycles. These products are of great interest and are currently employed in medical and pharmaceutical field. The substrates for the gold-catalysed reaction are lactam-derived enynes, which were achieved by a synthetic path starting from highly available and cheap reactants. Hereafter, different Au(I) catalysts were tested for the hydroarylation, both commercial and home-made in the laboratory. After this, the optimised procedure was employed to extend the scope. This way, we can obtain different functionalized heterocycles which may have practical applications.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
