The lynching in the United States of America between the end of the nineteenth century and the mid-fifties of the twentieth century is in line for methods and motivations with what was already expressed around the world. However, the racial aversion resulting from the abolition of slavery is more intense in this specific geographical area. This led to more organized action plans and local groups involved in the implementation of the practice of lynching, giving rise to real events no longer exclusively of submission and domination, but also of entertainment, with souvenirs, postcards and photographs, reinforcing the violent character and social control through the act.

Abstract
The lynching in the United States of America between the end of the nineteenth century and the mid-fifties of the twentieth century is in line for methods and motivations with what was already expressed around the world. However, the racial aversion resulting from the abolition of slavery is more intense in this specific geographical area. This led to more organized action plans and local groups involved in the implementation of the practice of lynching, giving rise to real events no longer exclusively of submission and domination, but also of entertainment, with souvenirs, postcards and photographs, reinforcing the violent character and social control through the act.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
