The subject of this work is the Corporate Social Responsibility analyzed between the theoretical and the practical point of view. In particular, the strategic approach and the importance of CSR will be described in achieving a competitive advantage, after the presentation of the definition and the evolution of the concept. Therefore, the combination between the characteristics of a moral person and those of a moral manager will be proposed for standing out the reputation of ethical leadership and in particular, the different ways of managers' approach resulting by the ethical leadership matrix. The attention will also focus on the origin of the phenomenon of irresponsible enterprise and the theory linked to this behaviour, highlighting the social and environmental impacts of the negative externalities. In the end of the theoretical phase, it will be treated the limits of Corporate Social Responsibility. Finally, two business cases will be analyzed. The Ferrero's glocal care project, involving the core values in which the Group believes, the added value distribution, the environmental responsibility project, its virtuous practices, with at least the Corporate Social Responsibility Report. The other one case study concerns the multinational Nestlé, example of irresponsible enterprise, with the examination of several negative practices and irresponsible actions about its trade strategy. This work will end with the recent Ferrero's acquisition of Nestlé confectionary business in United States, hoping the influence about its ethical approach for the future.
