The study analyses the role of English within the context of tourism, concentrating on the phenomenon of Anglicisms, i.e. the lexical borrowing of English words, idioms or characteristic features into a foreign language. A corpus of an Italian in-flight magazine was created using a professional corpus query system, detecting the most used Anglicisms, their characteristics and how they operate within the text.
