«Aquela, cujo amor me causa alguma pena» la figura femminile nella poesia di Cesário Verde

In this dissertation I have analyzed the poetic figure of the Portuguese author Cesário Verde, his life, his poetics and a recurring theme in his poem or the emblematic and ambiguous figure of the woman. In this analysis we have reconstructed the historical period of the poet both from the literary point of view with the Coimbra Question and the Geração de 70, and from the historical-political point of view with the degrading situation of Portugal, in the middle of the nineteenth century, and as the country will manage to emerge from the crisis. In addition we will also deal with the British Ultimatum that will subdue the country at the end of the nineteenth century.

In questa dissertazione ho analizzato la figura poetica dell'autore portoghese Cesário Verde, la sua vita, la sua poetica e un tema ricorrente nella sua poesia ovvero la figura emblematica e ambigua della donna. In questa analisi abbiamo ricostruito il periodo storico del poeta sia dal punto di vista letterario con la Questione di Coimbra e la Geração de 70, sia dal punto di vista storico-politico con la situazione degradante del Portogallo, a metà del secolo XIX, e come il Paese riuscirà ad uscire dalla crisi. Inoltre tratteremo anche l'Ultimatum britannico che sottometterà il Paese alla fine del XIX secolo.
