Is China willing to become a leader in renewable technology? China is the most polluting country on Earth, but it is undertaking substantial measures against pollution, climate change and environmental degradation. The outcome of these long-term political economy strategies can be observed in the Hangzhou case study. Key words: green economy, China, Hangzhou case study
