La ricezione di Manon Lescaut e Bohème nella critica musicale

From the title we can understand that the thesis's subject is the analysis of journalist reviews and music criticism about the theatrical performances of Manon Lescaut and Bohème, two juvenile operas of Giacomo Puccini. The criticisms concern the first performances in the main Italian cities, between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century; the aim is to understand the Italian liric theatre of those years, and to compare the opinion of that time with the modern vision of the two works.

Dal titolo si evince che la materia di occupazione della tesi sia l'analisi delle recensioni giornalistiche e delle critiche musicali relative alle rappresentazioni teatrali della Manon Lescaut e della Bohème, le due opere liriche giovanili di Giacomo Puccini. Le critiche riguardano le prime esecuzioni svolte nelle maggiori città italiane a cavallo tra la fine dell'800 e l'inizio del '900; lo scopo è comprendere il panorama del teatro lirico italiano di quegli anni per poter confrontare i giudizi dell'epoca con la visione odierna delle due opere.
