Doppiaggio e sottotitolazione dal romanesco all’inglese e tedesco. Il caso di “Strappare lungo i bordi”.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the different choices made in the translation of the animated series ‘Tear Along the Dotted Line’ from Roman dialect to English dubbing and German subtitling. The first chapter focuses on the author and his works, since the use of Roman dialect is peculiar to his works, starting from the comic strips up to the animated series. The second chapter focuses on the Roman dialect, examining its varieties, characteristics and its use in film and television from its beginnings to the present day. The third chapter, on the other hand, introduces the elements of audiovisual translation, a subject that might otherwise be difficult for inexperienced readers and that constitutes a fundamental part for understanding the following chapters. Finally, the fourth and fifth chapters focus respectively the first on English dubbing and the second on German subtitling, analysing the most significant cases of interjections, turpiloquy, cultural references and dialectisms in the scenes.

Il presente lavoro si propone di analizzare le diverse scelte adottate nella traduzione della serie animata "Strappare lungo i bordi" dal dialetto romano al doppiaggio inglese e alla sottotitolazione in tedesco. Il primo capitolo è incentrato sull'autore e le sue opere, poiché l'utilizzo del dialetto romano è peculiare delle sue opere, partendo dai fumetti fino ad arrivare alle serie animate. Il secondo capitolo si concentra sul dialetto romano, esaminando le sue varietà, le caratteristiche e il suo utilizzo nel cinema e nella televisione dagli albori ai giorni nostri. Il terzo capitolo, invece, introduce gli elementi della traduzione audiovisiva, un argomento che altrimenti potrebbe risultare ostico ai lettori inesperti e che costituisce una parte fondamentale per comprendere i capitoli successivi. Infine, il quarto e il quinto capitolo si concentrano rispettivamente il primo sul doppiaggio inglese e il secondo sulla sottotitolazione in tedesco, analizzando nelle scene i casi più significativi di interiezioni, turpiloquio, riferimenti culturali e dialettismi.
