The Hunger Games di Suzanne Collins: Ideologia e Importanza dei Media

L'obiettivo di questa dissertazione è quello di analizzare le opere di Suzanne Collins e in particolare il suo più grande capolavoro, The Hunger Games, esponendo alcuni aspetti della sua vita personale, delle sue opere precedenti e le sue ispirazioni per la trilogia, che sono strettamente interconnessi. Verranno analizzate le caratteristiche e le ideologie della società in Hunger Games, con una particolare attenzione sull'importanza dei media, il loro uso per fini politici, gli effetti sulla società stessa e sull'individuo.

The aim of this dissertation is to analyse Suzanne Collins's work and her biggest achievement, The Hunger Games, with an overview of her personal life, her previous works and her inspirations for the trilogy, which are all strictly interconnected. The features and the ideology of the society in The Hunger Games will be analysed, with a particular focus on the importance of media, their use for political purposes, the effects on society itself and the effects on the individual.
