Amore e Ossessione: un'analisi di Enduring Love di Ian McEwan

¿Enduring Love¿ is a novel published by Ian McEwan in 1997. It is considered a psychological novel, the plot is compelling and its aim is to consider some of the fundamental human questions about the meaning of love and its purpose in life. In fact, love is analysed in a number of different forms: familiar, romantic, revengeful, jeaolous, parental and especially obsessive. The purpose of this dissertation is to analyse the main themes and especially the correlation between love and obsession, the limit between them and the consequences on the main characters of the novel.

¿Enduring Love¿ è un romanzo pubblicato nel 1997 da Ian McEwan. Viene considerata un'opera di tipo psicologico, la trama è avvincente grazie alla tecnica narrativa usata dall'autore e le tematiche principali riguardano il significato di "amore", che viene analizzato in tutte le sue sfaccettature: familiare, romantico, egoistico, vendicativo, geloso, parentale e soprattutto ossessivo. L'obbiettivo principale della dissertazione è quello di analizzare le tematiche presenti e in particolar modo la correlazione tra amore e ossessione, il limite che intercorre tra le due tematiche e le conseguenze sui protagonisti del romanzo.
