Green Building & Circolarità: strategia per un futuro sostenibile. La prospettiva delle Caserme Verdi

More and more nowadays, the topic of environmental sustainability is important. This topic is of great interest nationally and internationally. In fact, there have been many conferences and conventions that have addressed this topic, such as the G20 environment, the CoPs (Conference of the Parties) and the European Green Deal. But what is meant by environmental sustainability? This term means "the condition of development that ensures that the needs of the present generation are met without compromising the ability of future generations to realize their own needs" . We, undoubtedly are meeting our needs but, will future generations be able to do so if we continue at this rate? Probably not. This thesis work focuses on explaining an economic model that can help achieve climate neutrality. This model is the circular economic model defined by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a pioneer of the circular economy, as an economy designed to be able to regenerate itself. Currently the model in use is a linear economic model, a model that relies on accessibility to a large amount of raw materials and energy and does not include waste recycling. During the development of this dissertation we will see how it is possible to move from a linear to a circular economic model, through various methods and tools such as, for example, Green Building. Sustainable building is a very sensitive topic to which more and more attention is being paid. In Italy it has aroused interest not only in the Italian government but also in other areas such as within the Italian Army through the " Caserme Verdi" project.

Sempre più al giorno d’oggi è importante il tema della sostenibilità ambientale. Questo argomento è di grande interesse a livello nazionale ed internazionale. Infatti, numerose sono state le conferenze e i convegni che hanno affrontato questo tema, come il G20 ambiente, le CoP (Conference of the Parties) e il Green Deal europeo. Ma cosa si intende per sostenibilità ambientale? Con questo termine si intende “la condizione di uno sviluppo in grado di assicurare il soddisfacimento dei bisogni della generazione presente senza compromettere la possibilità delle generazioni future di realizzare i propri” . Noi, indubbiamente stiamo soddisfando i nostri bisogni ma, lo potranno fare anche le generazioni future se continueremo a questo ritmo? Probabilmente no. Questo lavoro di tesi si incentra nello spiegare un modello economico in grado di contribuire a raggiungere la neutralità climatica. Questo modello è il modello economico circolare definito dalla Ellen MacArthur Foundation, pioniera dell’economia circolare, come un’economia pensata per potersi rigenerare da sola. Attualmente il modello in uso è un modello economico lineare, modello che si basa sull’accessibilità ad una grande quantità di materie prime ed energia e che non prevede il riciclo dei rifiuti. Durante lo sviluppo di questa dissertazione si vedrà come è possibile passare da un modello economico lineare a uno circolare, attraverso vari metodi e strumenti come, ad esempio, il Green Building. L’edilizia sostenibile è un argomento molto sensibile a cui si presta sempre più attenzione. In Italia ha suscitato interesse non solo al governo italiano ma anche in altri ambiti come all’interno dell’Esercito Italiano attraverso il progetto “ Caserme Verdi”.
