Ringraziare i maestri: esempi di lettere sul tema della gratitudine.

The thesis analyzes numerous letters of thanks that various writers and artists have wanted to dedicate to their teachers. From the study of these letters emerges an interpretation of the relationship between student and teacher, when the latter is able to overcome the dimension of teacher to identify himself with a figure who is more confidential towards the student. The first chapter focuses on a famous character of French literature, Albert Camus. With a journey inside some of his works but above all of epistolary exchanges between the author and the masters of his life, in the first chapter we try to deepen the nature of the relationship that the author had with the two educational figures, Monsieur Germain and Jean Grenier. The chapter concludes with an in-depth study of the theme of education from a Camusian point of view, and examines the educational value expressed by the author in his works, although he never assumes the role of educator. Nonetheless, his writings make his role very clear to the reader, who evolves, and from a pupil who listens to the master, he himself becomes a master who explains through his own works. In the second chapter the focus shifts to other letters of thanks dedicated to the masters. The letters are collected in the book "Lettre à ce prof qui a changé ma vie" dedicated to the French professor Samuel Paty, beheaded by an Islamic extremist as he left school. With the help of the texts it is possible to understand what are the reasons that push the students to be grateful for the type of education they received. As a result, teacher models emerge who are able to encourage pupils to approach this feeling. In conclusion, the entire content of the thesis refers to the theme of gratitude towards teachers and more generally towards teaching. Studying the role of the teachers protagonists of the various letters, it turns out that they are fundamental for the education of the student. Those who are committed to helping their pupils learn and grow, even by sacrificing their time, remain in the hearts of the pupils. The creation of a deep bond between student and teacher allows both to grow and treasure what they have learned from each other.

La tesi prende in analisi numerose lettere di ringraziamento che diversi scrittori e artisti hanno voluto dedicare ai propri maestri. Dallo studio di queste lettere emerge un’interpretazione del rapporto tra alunno e maestro, nel momento in cui quest’ultimo è in grado di superare la dimensione di insegnante per immedesimarsi in una figura che risulta più confidenziale nei confronti dell'allievo. Il primo capitolo si concentra su un personaggio celeberrimo della letteratura Francese, Albert Camus. Con un viaggio all’interno di alcune sue opere ma soprattutto di scambi epistolari tra l’autore e i maestri della sua vita, nel primo capitolo si cerca di approfondire la natura del rapporto che l’autore aveva con le due figure educative, Monsieur Germain e Jean Grenier. Il capitolo si conclude con un approfondimento del tema dell’educazione da un punto di vista camusiano, e prende in esame il valore educativo espresso dall’autore nelle sue opere, sebbene egli non assuma mai il ruolo di educatore. Ciò nonostante, i suoi scritti rendono molto chiaro al lettore il suo ruolo, che evolve, e da allievo che ascolta il maestro, diventa egli stesso maestro che spiega attraverso le proprie opere. Nel secondo capitolo l’attenzione si sposta su altre lettere di ringraziamento dedicate ai maestri. Le lettere sono raccolte nel libro “Lettre à ce prof qui a changé ma vie” dedicato al professore francese Samuel Paty, decapitato da un estremista islamico all’uscita da scuola. Con l’aiuto dei testi è possibile capire quali sono le ragioni che spingono gli allievi ad essere grati al tipo di educazione ricevuta. Di conseguenza, emergono i modelli di docente in grado di spronare gli alunni ad avvicinarsi a tale sentimento. In conclusione, l’intero contenuto della tesi fa riferimento al tema della gratitudine nei confronti dei maestri e più in generale dell'insegnamento. Studiando il ruolo degli insegnanti protagonisti delle varie lettere si scopre che essi sono fondamentali per la formazione dello studente. Coloro che si impegnano per aiutare i propri alunni a imparare e a crescere, anche sacrificando il loro tempo, restano nei cuori degli allievi. La creazione di un legame profondo tra alunno e maestro permette a entrambi di crescere e fare tesoro di quanto appreso l’uno dall’altro.
