The aim of the dissertation is to reinforce the idea that the so-called "Repugnant Conclusion" by Derek Parfit is no longer repugnant through the concept of moral bio-enhancement. In the first chapter some definitions of enhancement and of moral bio-enhancement are stated, then both the supposed distinction between therapy and enhancement and a brief treatment of morsality's concept are analysed. In the second chapter are listed some possible reasons according to which moral bio-enhancement is morally wrong, and they are counterargumented. In the last chapter, the "Repugnant Conclusion" is presented. Then, through the solution of the so-called Symmetry, embedded into the nonidentity problem, the repugnance is resolved. Moral bio-enhancement reinforces this conclusion.

Abstract
Moral bio-enhancement reinforces this conclusion.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
