Profezia che si autoavvera e istruzione: effetti delle aspettative degli insegnanti sull’autoefficacia e sul percorso scolastico

The main aim of the following paper is to analyse how teachers‘ expectations influence students’ academic performance, focusing in particular on the influences this phenomenon may have on pupils' sense of self-efficacy and their academic progress. Reviewing the literature that has extensively dealt with this phenomenon and reviewing empirical and theoretical studies by different authors, the mechanisms underlying the Pygmalion Effect will then be examined in depth.

Il presente lavoro si pone come obiettivo principale quello di analizzare come le aspettative degli insegnanti influenzino le prestazioni accademiche degli studenti, concentrandosi in particolar modo sulle influenze che tale fenomeno può avere sul senso di autoefficacia degli alunni e sul loro percorso accademico. Passando in rassegna la letteratura che ha ampiamento trattato tale fenomeno e revisionando studi empirici e teorici di diversi autori, verranno quindi esaminati in profondità i meccanismi alla base dell’Effetto Pigmalione.
