LA PATERNITÀ: DAL PATER FAMILIAS AI NUOVI PADRI

The project aims to analyse the concept of paternity. Points of view of various scholars, such as sociologists and psychologists, as well as historians and anthropologists, will be taken into account in order to have a broader view of the evolution of the father’s role. Different historical periods will be taken into account and the analysis will focus on how to implement paternity in each of these contexts. Initially, the context in which paternity is located is defined, that is, that of the family and the different types of family that have developed over time. The aspects which have influenced the formation of the family in Italy, the management of children and the reconciliation of work and family by parents are analysed both chronologically and legally, with a focus on innovation in our legislation with paternity leave. The second chapter describes aspects relating to the role of the father and his evolution throughout history. In addition to the concept of fatherhood in different eras (such as Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the period of the Fascist regime and the 2000s), the methods of building relations between fathers and sons, and between fathers and mothers-wives, in the same epochs will be analyzed. Finally, the third chapter focuses on the analysis of the role of today’s father, called "new father". There are focuses on the relationship between father and son and between father and mother, as in the previous chapter, describing the changes that have profoundly influenced the way paternity is implemented. In this part of the paper the differences between the traditional father and the "new father" are highlighted, with the introduction of a novelty that is attributable to more recent years, namely paternity in homosexual couples. ​

L’elaborato ha come obiettivo l’analisi del concetto di paternità. Vengono presi in considerazione punti di vista di diversi studiosi, quali sociologi e psicologi, ma anche storici e antropologi, al fine di avere uno sguardo il più ampio possibile relativamente all’evoluzione del ruolo del padre. Saranno tenuti in considerazione periodi storici differenti e l’analisi verterà sul modo di attuare la paternità in ognuno di questi contesti. Inizialmente si definisce il contesto in cui si colloca la paternità, ovvero quello della famiglia e dei diversi tipi di famiglia che si sono sviluppati nel tempo. Vengono poi analizzati, sia cronologicamente sia a livello normativo, gli aspetti che hanno influito in Italia sulla formazione della famiglia, sulla gestione dei figli e sulla conciliazione tra lavoro e famiglia da parte dei genitori, con un focus sull’innovazione apportata alla nostra legislazione coi congedi di paternità. Con il secondo capitolo, vengono descritti aspetti relativi al ruolo del padre e alla sua evoluzione nel corso della storia. Oltre al concetto di paternità in diverse epoche (quali l’Antica Roma, il Medioevo, il periodo del Regime fascista e gli anni 2000), saranno oggetto di analisi le modalità di costruzione dei rapporti tra padri e figli, e tra padri e madri-mogli, nelle medesime epoche. Infine, il terzo capitolo verte sull’analisi del ruolo del padre di oggi, definito “nuovo padre”. Sono presenti focus relativi al rapporto tra padre e figlio e tra padre e madre, come nel capitolo precedente, descrivendo i cambiamenti che hanno profondamente influenzato il modo di attuare la paternità. In questa parte dell’elaborato vengono evidenziate le differenze tra il padre tradizionale e il “nuovo padre”, prendendo inoltre in considerazione la paternità nelle coppie omosessuali. ​
