Le difficoltà della traduzione audiovisiva: proposta di sottotitolaggio del film multilingue "Evet, ich will!"

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the difficulties that multilingual films present in translation through the translation proposal and the analysis of the Turkish-German comedy “Evet, ich will!”. In particular, the thesis is divided into two parts: the first part, which consists of the first three chapters, focuses on audiovisual translation and the various studies relating to this field of research, on the translation technique of subtitling and its distinctive features, and on multilingualism in film, a phenomenon that is becoming increasingly widespread in audiovisuals and is being studied by researchers. The second part proposes the translation and subtitling of the above-mentioned German-produced film, which has never been dubbed or subtitled in Italian. The proposal is followed by an analysis of the various linguistic, lexical and cultural aspects that need to be adapted for the audience of the target text and of the difficulties that the translator-subtitler must face if two cultures are present in the film, as happens in “Evet, ich will!”.

L’obiettivo della tesi è quello di esaminare le difficoltà che il film multilingue presenta in sede di traduzione attraverso la proposta di sottotitolaggio e la relativa analisi della commedia turco-tedesca “Evet, ich will!”. In particolare la tesi è suddivisa in due parti: la prima parte, che consta dei primi tre capitoli, è incentrata sulla traduzione audiovisiva e i vari studi relativi a questo campo di ricerca, sulla tecnica traduttiva della sottotitolazione e i suoi tratti distintivi e sul multilinguismo nel cinema, un fenomeno sempre più diffuso negli audiovisivi e studiato dai ricercatori. Nella seconda parte viene proposta la traduzione e sottotitolazione del film di produzione tedesca sopracitato, che non è mai stato né doppiato né sottotitolato in italiano. Alla proposta segue un’analisi dei vari aspetti linguistici, lessicali e culturali che devono essere adattati per il pubblico del testo di arrivo e delle difficoltà che il traduttore-sottotitolatore deve affrontare se nel film sono presenti due culture, come accade in “Evet, ich will!”. ​
