In order to deepen the understanding and the analysis on Sino-African relations, this elaborate covers various perspectives on the topic, starting from a mere discursive overview on how China and Africa have forged their cooperation, through the description of the role of the Bandung Conference and of South-South cooperation, the framework in which Sino-Africa relations are placed, in order to further outline a deeper analysis on the topic, through the use of examples and literature, which has been a pivotal role in the shaping of such elaborate. Different opinions from academics and scholars are taken into consideration, in order to get a wide and full overview on the topic, concerning both its strengths and its weaknesses, in the direction of deepening the analysis. The main focus of this elaborate is going to be the analysis of different perspectives on Sino-Africa relations, questioning how they are implemented and put into place, considering both their strengths and their weaknesses, with a particular focus on the risks and the outcomes of the infrastructural development, related to the environment and the protection of the human rights, carried out by China on the African territory, and, specifically for what concerns this analysis, in Sudan, through a concrete example, the Merowe Dam, which is examined through its multi-faceted reality. China, in this elaborate, represents a global actor to be examined and analyzed, in order to understand the role which it fulfills in regards to Africa, and to specific states of the continent, through a type of cooperation which brings along development but also challenges.
