Il futuro delle valli alpine visto dai loro abitanti. Il caso studio della Valchiusella

For decades the Italian mountains have been depopulating and the internal areas are increasingly isolated and marginal; but these places are not empty, indeed they represent about 60% of the country's territory. In recent years, however, the internal areas have been the subject of renewed interest, both academic - e.g. Manifesto di Camaldoli, Riabitare l'Italia (De Rossi 2018), Metromontagna (Barbera and De Rossi 2021) - and political - with the creation of the National Strategy for Internal Areas (SNAI). This work, adopting the futures studies perspective, illustrates a qualitative study on Valchiusella: a "middle" valley that belongs neither to the extreme mountain nor to the metropolitan area. The focus is on giving voice to the inhabitants of these places starting from their perspectives on the future of the valley. The inclusion of the different points of view of the inhabitants is of fundamental importance for the formulation of effective territorial policies.

Da decenni le montagne italiane si stanno spopolando e le aree interne sono sempre più isolate e marginali; ma questi luoghi non sono vuoti, rappresentano anzi circa il 60% del territorio del paese. Negli ultimi anni le aree interne sono però state oggetto di un rinnovato interesse, sia accademico - es. Manifesto di Camaldoli, Riabitare l’Italia (De Rossi 2018), Metromontagna (Barbera e De Rossi 2021) - che politico - con la creazione della Strategia Nazionale per le Aree Interne (SNAI). Questo lavoro, adottando la prospettiva dei futures studies, illustra uno studio qualitativo sulla Valchiusella: una valle "di mezzo" che non appartiene né all'estrema montagna né alla cintura metropolitana. Il focus è restituire voice agli abitanti di questi luoghi a partire dalle loro prospettive sul futuro della valle. L'inclusione dei diversi punti di vista degli abitanti è di fondamentale importanza per la formulazione di politiche del territorio efficaci.
