SENATORI E CAVALIERI AD AUGUSTA TAURINORUM Ritratto di una classe dirigente

This historical thesis focuses on the census and the study of the most illustrious personalities of the early history of Turin. In the first chapter I focused on the problems of centuriation and administrative distinction of colonia-municipium for Augusta Taurinorum, after a brief excursus on the Celtic-Ligurian tribe prior to the Roman arrival. The following chapters are divided between senators, knights and magistrates. I tried to analyze and study the prosopography of the individual characters and of their own family, focusing above all on the reason that may have prompted foreign families to emigrate to the nascent colony in North Italy.

La presente tesi storico-epigrafica si incentra sul censimento e sullo studio dei più illustri personaggi della prima storia di Torino. Nel primo capitolo, a carattere introduttivo, mi sono soffermata sui problemi di centuriazione e di distinzione amministrativa di colonia-municipium per Augusta Taurinorum, dopo un breve excursus sulla tribù celto-ligure precedente all’arrivo romano. I capitoli che seguono si dividono tra senatori, cavalieri e magistrati. Qui ho cercato di analizzare e studiare la prosopografia dei singoli personaggi e della propria famiglia, soffermandomi soprattutto sul motivo che può aver spinto alle famiglie allogene ad emigrare in questa nascente colonia del Nord Italia.
