La Banca centrale europea tra ordoliberalismo e il mandato di Mario Draghi

The aim of the dissertation is to investigate the influences of ordoliberalism on the structure of the European Central Bank and the role that President Mario Draghi played in making this institution capable of dealing with the greatest crisis ever since the "Great Depression" Located in Frankfurt am Main, the European central bank is modelled after the German Central Bank (Bundesbank). German influences can be found in the ordoliberal thinking about monetary policy. Moreover, it was precisely from Germany that fierce criticism was levelled at the action of the European central bank during Draghi’s presidency, which they said was responsible for implementing a monetary policy that did not conform to the mandate entrusted to the institution by the Treaties. ​

L'obiettivo della dissertazione è indagare le influenze dell'ordoliberalismo sulla struttura della Banca centrale europea e il ruolo che ha svolto il Presidente Mario Draghi nel rendere questa istituzione capace di affrontare la più grande crisi mai avvenuta dalla "Grande Depressione" Ubicata a Francoforte sul Meno, la Banca centrale europea è plasmata sul modello della Banca centrale tedesca (Bundesbank). Le influenze tedesche non si limitano alla struttura, ma risalgono al pensiero ordoliberale tedesco nell’obiettivo della politica monetaria. Tuttavia, proprio dallo Stato tedesco arrivarono feroci critiche all’operato della Banca centrale europea durante il mandato di Mario Draghi, responsabile, a detta dei tedeschi, di attuare una politica monetaria non conforme al mandato affidato all’istituzione da parte dei Trattati.
