Attorno alla Bellezza: Baudelaire e il Parnassianesimo.

The theme of beauty is one of the most popular literary topos in French literature. Often associated with the historical and cultural context, it has been developed in different ways in the various literary currents. Within the dissertation we analyze how beauty has been treated, not only aesthetically but also artistically, by two of the greatest authors of nineteenth-century French literature: Charles Baudelaire and Théophile Gautier. In particular, in the first part of the text, through the critical and stylistic analysis of some compositions, will be highlighted how nature can be linked to poetic and artistic aestheticism, how man can feel physically and humanly represented in it, analyzing analogies and differences between these two great spheres that make up reality, namely humanity and the immense nature. In addition, the link between the female idealization of beauty as a synonym of divinity superior to man will be highlighted. Therefore the comparison between the poet and the abstract world will be of fundamental importance. Subsequently, through a path guided by the stylistic analysis of the poems of the two authors, it will be analyzed the relationship between beauty and contemporary aesthetic canons to writers: starting then from the idea of femininity and physical attraction, the dissertation aims to show first of all how the body can reflect the sense of beauty through the sensory world, and finally the particularity and rarity of the different, taking into account not only the female world but also that of the marginalized, who at the time were a scourge for society. So their evocation is emblematic in order to better understand and deepen the theme of the different and its relationship with beauty.

La tematica della bellezza costituisce uno dei topos letterari più diffusi all’interno della letteratura francese. Associata spesso al contesto storico e culturale, essa è stata sviluppata in modi diversi nelle varie correnti letterarie. All’interno della dissertazione si analizza come la bellezza sia stata trattata, non soltanto esteticamente ma anche artisticamente, da due dei più grandi autori della letteratura francese dell’Ottocento: Charles Baudelaire e Théophile Gautier. In particolare, nella prima parte del testo, attraverso l’analisi critica e stilistica di alcuni componimenti, verrà messo in luce come la natura possa legarsi all’estetismo poetico ed artistico, come l’uomo possa sentirsi fisicamente e umanamente rappresentato in essa, analizzando analogie e differenze tra queste due grandi sfere che compongono la realtà, cioè l’umanità e l’immensa natura. Inoltre, verrà messo in rilievo il legame tra l’idealizzazione femminile della bellezza in quanto sinonimo di divinità superiore all’uomo. Pertanto sarà di fondamentale importanza il confronto tra poeta e mondo astratto.Successivamente, attraverso un percorso guidato dalle analisi stilistiche delle poesie dei due autori, verrà analizzato il rapporto tra la bellezza ed i canoni estetici contemporanei agli scrittori: partendo quindi dall’idea di femminilità e di attrazione fisica, la dissertazione ha come obiettivo quello di mostrare in primo luogo come il corpo possa riflettere il senso della bellezza attraverso il mondo sensoriale, ed in conclusione la particolarità e la rarità del diverso, prendendo in considerazione non solo il mondo femminile ma anche quello degli emarginati, i quali, al tempo, costituivano una piaga della società. Dunque la loro evocazione è emblematica al fine di meglio comprendere e approfondire il tema del diverso ed il suo rapporto con la bellezza.
