This paper considers that protection of dignified life is not done only by improving the quality of life but also by ensuring death in a peaceful manner. Even if people are satisfied with most parts of their life, death can undermine their dignified life. Euthanasia can be a hope for patients in irreversible situation. However, currently, it is prohibited in most of the jurisdictions. This paper analyzes euthanasia from the viewpoint of human rights. Some human rights seems to be against euthanasia. However, this paper asserts that euthanasia can be compatible with human rights.

Abstract
