In the last decades Green Chemistry has become increasingly relevant among scientific research. One of its main goal is to reduce the use of substances that are harmful to humans and the environment, such as environmentally unsustainable solvents, which are highly toxic, volatile, flamable and used on a massive scale from laboratories to chemical industries. In order to solve these problems, greeneer alternative solvents have been proposed, for example: supercritical fluids, water, Ionic Liquids (ILs) and Deep Eutectic Solvents (DESs), which can be used to increase sustainability thanks to their eco-compatible properties and advantages. With this purpose, this thesis work has been developed for the use of DESs as reaction medias and promoter for alcohol functional groups protection reactions using 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran (DHP). The need for efficient protecting groups chemistry still is undeniable to obtain sintetically useful molecules and/or intermidiates. Based on this assumption, this thesis proposes a renewable, simple and effective method to carry out this procedure. The reaction scope was extended to a library of substrates and also the possibility of conducting the deprotection reaction in DES media was investigated. Moreover, the recycling of DES and a tandem reaction process using this solvent were also conducted: very good results have been obtained in all the fields examined.
