In this work we would like to explore how defect centers in diamond crystals modify the crystalline structure and therefore the coloration. This analysis was conducted through transmission spectroscopy which allowed us to measure the spectra of various diamond samples, these were then used to invert the relationship between the absorption spectrum and the transmission spectrum, in order to construct a model capable of simulating the coloration of a diamond by inputting the absorption spectrum of an optical center.

Abstract

In this work we would like to explore how defect centers in diamond crystals modify the crystalline structure and therefore the coloration. This analysis was conducted through transmission spectroscopy which allowed us to measure the spectra of various diamond samples, these were then used to invert the relationship between the absorption spectrum and the transmission spectrum, in order to construct a model capable of simulating the coloration of a diamond by inputting the absorption spectrum of an optical center.
