Il ruolo della donna nella 'ndrangheta una lettura sociologica

Since the 1990s, various social scientists have consolidated the scientific debate on the role of women within mafia-type criminal organizations, which had blurred and underpowered, represented with a perspective that was often solely oriented from the inside and narratives entrusted to male figures. The widespread representations that fixed them as exclusively passive figures have been deconstructed from much more differentiated portraits in which the possibility of defining unitary paradigms eludes. The conclusions of the studies have shown that rather of a "change" in the role of women in these groups, it would be necessary to speak, depending on the historical moments, of "visibility" or "invisibility" which is accomplished by certain publications, supported and amplified by the mass media communication: their experiences reveal the contradictions of a society that struggles to recognize a role, still permeated by ancient prejudices and modern male fears. This is a debate that deserves to be scientifically broadened and deepened by asking what are the founding values of a society on which women and young people who turn their backs on mafia organizations should rebuild their social identity without reducing the issues to be dealt with to a problem of public order, thus addressing the question from a political point of view on the idea of a society to be created and dealing with the underlying institutional, social and economic issues.

A partire dagli anni Novanta, diverse studiose hanno consolidato il dibattito scientifico sul ruolo delle donne all’interno delle organizzazioni criminali di stampo mafioso fino ad allora sfocato e sottodimensionato, rappresentato con una prospettiva spesso unicamente orientata dall’interno e narrazioni affidate a figure maschili. Le rappresentazioni diffuse che le fissavano come figure esclusivamente passive sono state decostruite da ritratti molto più differenziati in cui sfugge la possibilità di definire paradigmi unitari. Le conclusioni degli studi hanno evidenziato che piuttosto di “mutamento” del ruolo delle donne in tali gruppi occorrerebbe parlare, a seconda dei momenti storici, di “visibilità” o “invisibilità” di cui è complice una certa pubblicistica, supportata e amplificata dai mezzi di comunicazione di massa: nei loro vissuti si svelano le contraddizioni di una società che fatica riconoscerle un ruolo, ancora permeato da antichi pregiudizi e moderne paure maschili. Si tratta di un dibattito che merita di essere allargato e approfondito scientificamente interrogandosi su quali siano i valori fondanti di una società sui quali le donne e i giovani che voltano le spalle alle organizzazioni mafiose dovrebbero ricostruire la propria identità sociale evitando di ridurre i temi da trattare a un problema di ordine pubblico, affrontando quindi la questione dal punto di vista politico sull’idea di società da realizzare e facendo i conti con le questioni di fondo, istituzionali, sociali ed economiche.
