La ribellione anti-istituzionale nelle "Continental Prophecies" di William Blake

This thesis, divided in three chapters, deals with the revolutionary and anti-istitutional thinking of William Blake, who lived in the second half of the XVIII century, focusing on "The Continental Prophecies" trilogy. The first chapter shows the political and philosophical situation in England, during the second half of the century. The second one deals with the thinking and life of Blake, while the third one describes the referencies of Blake's thinking in the books that form the trilogy: "America", "Europe" and "The Song of Los". They are the representation of the most radical part of Blake's thinking. Indeed, according to the writer-painter revolution is a necessary step on the path of freedom.

Questa tesi, suddivisa in tre capitoli, tratta il pensiero rivoluzionario e anti-istituzionale di Willam Blake, vissuto nella seconda metà del XVIII secolo, concentrandosi sulla trilogia delle "Continental Prophecies". Il primo capitolo mostra la situazione politica e filosofica dell 'Inghilterra della seconda metà del secolo. Il secondo racconta il pensiero e la vita di Blake, mentre il terzo descrive i riferimenti al pensiero blakiano presenti nei tre libri che formano la trilogia, "America", "Europe" e "the Song of Los". Essi rappresentano la parte più radicale del pensiero di William Blake. Secondo lo scrittore-pittore infatti la rivoluzione costituisce un passo necessario per la conquista della libertà.
