In the following paper we will analyze how Management System can be applied in a firm, in the specific case of a Service Company in which I've worked, and what are the principal characteristics and consequences that those application will bring to the business. Initially I will briefly give an explanation of the most utilized standards, with a comparison of the situation of companies in different part of the world, then we will see the amazing spreading of certified businesses around the world focusing on the situation in Europe, analyzing pro and cons of being certified. A management system is the framework of policies, processes and procedures used to ensure that the organization can fulfill all tasks required to achieve its objectives. There are different kinds of management system standards, but we will focus particularly on the most famous and utilized ones: the ISO 9001 quality management system, the Corporate Social Responsibility SA8000 and the ISO 14001, the international standard related to environmental management that help organizations to minimize that operation that can negatively affect the environment. These three certification aren't mandatory and of course will costs something to companies but, if they are treated as an investment and as an opportunity for the future, they will bring something back to the company. Also, we will see graphically the spreading of another standard that is linked with the previous three that is OHSAS 18001 that is an international standard for occupational health and safety management systems.
