The following paper studies the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility from a Scandinavian point of view, it offers an analysis of the stakeholder theory and justifies its claim to be of Scandinavian origins. A brief clarification to the concept of Scandinavia and CSR is provided in the first chapter; while a deeper and more profound study on the concept of stakeholder and the theory of stakeholder management will constitute the main body of this piece. Consequently, you will find a reasoning on why the notion of stakeholder and the stakeholder theory has been influenced by thinkers and academics from the Northern European countries. By doing so, a research on current practices of stakeholder management by Scandinavian firms is also provided.
