Il doppiaggese - un’analisi diacronica dagli anni ‘90 ad oggi: i casi Friends e How I met Your Father

This thesis analyses the phenomenon of doppiaggese ("dubbese" in English), the distinctive language of dubbing characterized by phrases, words, and structures that can sometimes feel unnatural. Starting with the origins of translation and the development of dubbing in Italy, the study examines the phenomenon in all its aspects, also thanks to a comparative analysis of two famous sitcoms: Friends, a cult series from the '90s, and How I Met Your Father, a modern spin-off of the popular How I Met Your Mother. Through this diachronic analysis, the aim is to qualitatively and quantitatively assess the presence of dubbese in the two sitcoms and to determine if and how it has evolved over the past thirty years. The study is followed by a survey to better understand viewers' actual perception of dubbese.

Il seguente lavoro di tesi va ad analizzare il fenomeno del doppiaggese ("dubbese" in inglese), ovvero il linguaggio tipico del doppiaggio caratterizzato da frasi, parole, e strutture talvolta poco naturali. Partendo dalla nascita della traduzione e lo sviluppo del doppiaggio in Italia, si esamina il fenomeno in ogni suo aspetto, grazie anche ad uno studio comparativo di due famose sitcom: Friends, serie cult degli anni '90, e How I Met Your Father, spin-off moderno della celebre How I Met Your Mother. Da questa analisi diacronica, si cerca di verificare, qualitativamente e quantitativamente, la presenza del doppiaggese nelle due sitcom, e anche se e come è cambiata nel corso degli ultimi trent'anni. Segue poi un questionario grazie al quale si tenta di capire quale sia effettivamente la percezione del dubbese da parte degli utenti.
