Ebrei e pregiudizio: costruzione e permanenza di stereotipi antisemiti

The present work aims to investigate and trace the genesis to the multiple and entrenched stereotypes and prejudices that from centuries have been accompanying the historical events of the Jewish people, especially in light of recent events. Starting from the birth of the Christian religion and the simultaneous dispersion of the Jews in the Mediterranean region, it is hereby attempted to retrace the history of the relationship between this human group and the populations of the countries in which they found themselves living. From the birth of the first slanderous accusations of deicide and ritual infanticide, to the contempt for their dedication to loansharking activities, till the presumed tendency to conspiracy, to the discrimination arising from the racial theories of the Enlightenment, that brought in a few decades to the atrocities of the concentration camps, without giving up a glimpse of the scenarios offered by present time.

Il presente lavoro intende indagare e risalire alla genesi dei numerosi e radicati stereotipi e pregiudizi che da secoli accompagnano le vicende storiche del popolo ebraico, anche alla luce degli accadimenti più recenti. A partire dalla nascita delle religione cristiana e alla contemporanea dispersione degli ebrei nell'area mediterranea, si è qui tentato di ripercorrere la storia dei rapporti fra questo gruppo umano e le popolazioni dei Paesi in cui si trovarono a vivere. Dalla nascita delle prime infamanti accuse di deicidio e infanticidio rituale, al disprezzo per la dedizione all'usura e alla presunta tendenza al complotto, fino alle discriminazioni generate dalle teorie razziali di matrice illuministica che portarono in pochi decenni alle atrocità dei campi di sterminio, senza peraltro rinunciare a gettare uno sguardo sugli scenari offerti dal presente.
