In order to study the kinetics of SVZ cells we have used BrdU as a marker of DNA synthesis and PH3 at Ser10 as a marker for cells in M and G2 phases of cycle. By combined localization of the two labels (Contestabile et al., 2008) we have calculated the cell cycle kinetics in the SVZ of senescent mice.
