Trasmissione transgenerazionale: dallo sviluppo del Sé alla relazione terapeutica

Is it feasible that what is kept hidden, invisible, secret and unvoiced has the possibility to be transmitted from one individual to the other? Can a psychic content be transferred from generation to generation? This research focuses on the interest towards transgenerational transmission of psychic contents linked to traumatic events. The attachment relationship constitutes a contest in which the transmission of the abovementioned psychic contents – thoughts, behavioural patterns, emotions, motivational systems – can took place. This transmission is intertwined with the birth of an individual and his gradual self-construction. An extremely fascinating aspect concerns the methods through which the transgenerational arises in the psychotherapist’s office ringing out in the relationship between the therapist and the patient. In this regard, using the case report of a young artist, it was tried to investigate the difficulties in which the therapist could stumble into in the moment transgenerational “ghosts” appear, with a strong impact on the therapist, forcing him to deviate from technique to face his own “ghosts”.

Ciò che viene mantenuto nascosto, celato, mai detto, ha modo di trasmettersi da un individuo ad un altro? Può un contenuto psichico trasmettersi di generazione in generazione? La presente ricerca nasce per l’interesse verso la trasmissione transgenerazionale di contenuti psichici correlati ad eventi traumatici. La relazione primaria costituisce un contesto in cui la trasmissione dei suddetti elementi psichici – pensieri, pattern comportamentali, emozioni, sistemi motivazionali – si può verificare: la trasmissione si intreccia a doppio filo con la nascita e la graduale strutturazione del Sé individuale. Un aspetto particolarmente affascinante concerne le modalità attraverso cui il transgenerazionale emerge all’interno della stanza d’analisi, risuonando all’interno della relazione tra terapeuta e paziente. A questo proposito, attraverso il caso clinico di un giovane artista, si è cercato di indagare le difficoltà in cui potrebbe incappare il terapeuta qualora i ‘fantasmi’ transgenerazionali del paziente dovessero avere un forte impatto sul clinico, tale da costringerlo a ‘deviare dalla tecnica’ e affrontare i propri ‘fantasmi’ personali.
