Forme tempo-aspettuali nell'italiano di Sicilia: un confronto tra romanzi e testi informali

This thesis aims to analyze data taken from the literature of Sicily and from the WhatsApp social platform in order to show how the italian of Sicily differs from the common italian and other romance varieties, in particular for the types "stare + gerundio" and the "remote past tense". These types have been seen from an aspectual as well as a temporal point of view. The data analysis will be preceded by a historical excursus aimed at explaining these time-aspectual forms from a diachronic point of view, and then, in the methodological implementation of the corpus, dwell on their synchronic characteristics. The ultimate goal is to compare the trends of italian of Sicily with those of common italian and this will allow to see how these varieties sometimes move away and sometimes approach a single linguistic path. ​

Tale elaborato mira ad analizzare dati prelevati dalla letteratura regionale di Sicilia e dalla piattaforma sociale WhatsApp al fine di mostrare come l’italiano regionale di Sicilia si differenzi dall’italiano comune e da altre varietà romanze per quanto riguarda le forme "stare + gerundio" e il "passato remoto" visti da un punto di vista aspettuale oltre che temporale. L’analisi dei dati verrà preceduta da un excursus storico finalizzato a spiegare tali forme tempo-aspettuali da un punto di vista diacronico, per poi nell’attuazione metodologica del corpus soffermarsi sulle loro caratteristiche sincroniche. Il fine ultimo è quello di confrontare le tendenze dell’italiano di Sicilia rispetto a quelle dell’italiano comune e questo permetterà di vedere come tali varietà talvolta si allontanano e talvolta si avvicinano ad un unico percorso linguistico. ​
