Impact of ownership and climate policy stringency on lenders

Nowadays, the correlation between economy and environment is gaining always more importance to the point that it is almost essential to consider environmental policy implications on economy. In this scenario, one of the most relevant interactions is the one regarding environmental policy stringency and lenders; among the others, Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) can be a powerful tool to evaluate countries activities. Furthermore, the aim of this work is investigating when and how different levels of environmental policy stringency can impact lender activities. In this perspective, it has been possible to underline an effective relation between CCPI and lender shares, showing the importance of environmental policy stringency on economy. If on one side we demonstrate that environmental consideration definitively plays a role in economic evaluations of any kind, on the other, we show that governments are not acting in this direction, yet. Therefore, we leave this topic like an open issues for future researches.
