Il lavoro del negativo. Estraneità e dimensione anticonoscitiva nel setting analitico

Bion considers mind something that, going beyond the single subject, is placed in a space of bonds. The links conceived by the author concern a love (L), a hate (H) and a desire for knowledge (K) that the subject feels towards a content. If the subject meets someone whose mind can act as a container for the emotions that are still incomprehensible to the subject, he will have the opportunity to know his reality, developing himself the containing capacity and the functions to process thoughts. If this encounter, on the other hand, is hindered, a mental attitude will develop which will have the objective of escaping from the encounter with reality (-K) with the consequence of the destruction of bonds and their emotional meaning (-H, -L). In the following paper, the clinical manifestations of a personality functioning in -K will be investigated starting from the exemplification taken from the novel "Lo Straniero" by Camus, and the possible therapeutic actions that, in the session, can help the patient whose mind works in a negative way and his psychoanalyst to overcome misunderstandings, moments of stalemate or difficulties.

Bion pensa alla mente come qualcosa che, andando oltre il singolo soggetto, si colloca in uno spazio di legami. I legami dall’autore pensati riguardano un amore (L), un odio (H) e un desiderio di conoscenza (K) che il soggetto sente nei confronti di un contenuto. Se il soggetto incontra qualcuno la cui mente possa fungere da contenitore delle emozioni che al soggetto risultano ancora incomprensibili, egli avrà la possibilità di conoscere la sua realtà, sviluppando egli stesso la capacità contenitiva e le funzioni per elaborare i pensieri. Se tale incontro, invece, risulta ostacolato, si svilupperà un assetto mentale che avrà l’obbiettivo di fuggire dall’incontro con la realtà (-K) con la conseguenza della distruzione dei legami e del loro significato emotivo (-H, -L). Verranno indagate, nel seguente elaborato, le manifestazioni cliniche di una personalità funzionante in -K a partire dall’esemplificazione tratta dal romanzo “Lo Straniero” di Camus, e le possibili azioni terapeutiche che, in seduta, possono aiutare il paziente che funziona in negativo e il suo psicoanalista a superare incomprensioni, momenti di stallo o difficoltà.
