Tatta, soredake: evaporazione sociale e controversie nell’opera di Miyashita Natsu

This paper aims to present the unpublished work by Miyashita Natsu entitled Tatta, soredake ("The rest doesn't count") in its Italian translation, together with a general introduction on the life and works of the author, a general presentation and commented chapter by chapter accompanied by a final critical afterword, which aims to analyze not only the work translated in general, but also some of the social issues that emerged within the novel considered of particular interest. Finally, in the appendix, there is the transcription of an interview with the author, carried out in February 2022, regarding her career as an author in general and her vision of the work translated here in particular. The first chapter presents the introduction to the transcript and the subsequent translation work. The biography and writing career of Miyashita Natsu, a well-known contemporary author at home and abroad, are analyzed. The second chapter consists of the full translation of the novel. The third part of the paper presents a further commentary on the work from a critical point of view: in particular, the themes of escape and the phenomenon of jōhatsu or "social evaporation", recurring in the work and linked to other repeated macro-themes that offer a more precise contextualization of the novel in the contemporary Japanese social scene, have been taken into account. Finally, there follows a glossary of Japanese terms that are difficult to understand, the critical bibliography used for the writing of the thesis and the appendix in which the interview with the author is reported, in Japanese with subsequent Italian translation.

Il presente elaborato si propone di presentare l’opera inedita di Miyashita Natsu dal titolo Tatta, soredake (“Il resto non conta”) nella sua traduzione italiana, unita ad un’introduzione generale sulla vita e le opere dell’autrice, una presentazione generale e commentata capitolo per capitolo corredata da una postfazione critica finale, che si pone l’obiettivo di analizzare non solo l’opera tradotta in generale, ma anche alcuni dei temi sociali emersi all’interno del romanzo ritenuti di particolare interesse. In appendice, infine, è presente la trascrizione di un’intervista all’autrice, effettuata nel mese di febbraio 2022, riguardante la sua carriera di autrice in generale e la sua visione sull’opera qui tradotta in particolare. Il primo capitolo presenta l’introduzione all’elaborato e al lavoro di traduzione successivo. Si analizzano la biografia e la carriera di scrittrice di Miyashita Natsu, autrice contemporanea molto conosciuta in patria e all’estero. Il secondo capitolo è costituito dalla traduzione integrale del romanzo. La terza parte dell’elaborato presenta un ulteriore commento all’opera dal punto di vista critico: in particolare, si è tenuto conto dei temi della fuga e del fenomeno del jōhatsu o “evaporazione sociale”, ricorrenti nell’opera e collegati ad altri macro-temi ripetuti che offrono una contestualizzazione più precisa del romanzo nel panorama sociale giapponese contemporaneo. Infine, seguono un glossario dei termini giapponesi di difficile comprensione, la bibliografia critica utilizzata per la stesura della tesi e l’appendice in cui viene riportata l’intervista all’autrice, in giapponese con successiva traduzione italiana.
