This essay analyses prejudice against homosexuality, particularly focusing on adolescence, as a specific stage of the development path. Different aspects of the prejudice and its different expressions are investigated through five theory and research areas. In particular we studied the origins and the elements that may lead to the birth of sexual prejudice during adolescence and the link between this kind of prejudice and sexual stigma. A closer examination of various prejudice expressions is provided, considering different sexual genders. Special emphasis is place on bullying and on the risky behaviors of homosexual victims. We finally investigated possible intervention strategies to remove the prejudice.
