BACKGROUND: Inside of the S.P.R.A.R. There is a project specifically designed for vulnerable people, which is engaged in reception with methods similar to ordinary project, in fact, the same way it is expected the activation of specific interventions, with targeted services that implement the measures and support from give the person in relation to its particular needs, especially in the area of mental disorder. AIMS: This research work has the objective to evaluate the occurrence of psychiatric disorders in the project SPRAR for the years 2011-2013, with the goal of understanding the spread of mental distress and its management by the services of operating inside of the project. METHODS: It was carried out field research through interview subjected to service operators involved in the project for the years 2011-2013. The data collected were analyzed using the statistical program SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). Within the database were included the following variables to two hundred cases: date of birth; sex; nationality; dates of start and end of the project; project type (ordinary / vulnerable); service; housing situation; autonomy; bag work; educational interventions; interventions of socialization; school integration; psychological support; first interview; diagnosis; compliance; hospitalizations; marital status at the end of the project (refugee / irregular). CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion we can say that, despite having been established within SPRAR a project dedicated to the support of specific psychiatric disorders, it must be an increase in seats, and a higher psycho-social support to satisfy the demand for help steadily increasing over the years. For this reason it is necessary the insertion of professionals involved in evaluating suffering, In relation to the subjective experience and culture of the individual, as the population of asylum seekers has a high risk of developing psychiatric disorders.
