Karel Zeman, lo sperimentatore

Karel Zeman, a director of animation films, is the center of my dissertation, born by my passion about cinema and decided after my visit at the Karel Zeman Museum in Prague dedicated to an artist that is always transforming and aiming for experimentation and improvement. The thesis starts from the origins of the director, from the context that surrounded him and marked the evolution of his work to get to an in-depth analysis of the full-lenght films, mostly mixed techniques films. Finally the author Zdeněk Rozkopal that represents Zeman's inheritance. The drafting method of the dissertation has considered bibliographic research, information from Czech, Italian, French, German and English resources as well as the view of Zeman's films and the connections between history and films. The goal is to produce an in-depth view about this artist and his important contribution to the animation field supported by a solid attention to the analysis of the fantastic, magical, clever Zeman's production.

Karel Zeman, un regista del cinema d'animazione, è il centro della mia dissertazione nata dalla passione per il cinema e decisa dopo la visita del museo di Praga dedicato a questo autore, un artista sempre in trasformazione e in tensione verso sperimentazione e perfezionamento. La tesi parte dalle origini del regista, dal contesto che lo circondava e ha segnato l'evoluzione della sua opera, per arrivare agli approfondimenti della parte filmica, soprattutto lungometraggi di tecnica mista. A conclusione viene riconosciuta un'eredità di Zeman nella figura di Zdeněk Rozkopal. Il metodo di stesura dell'elaborato ha previsto ricerche bibliografiche, informazioni raccolte da risorse ceche, italiane, francesi, tedesche e inglesi, oltre alla visione dei film di Zeman e ad un'azione di ricerca di collegamenti storici e filmografici. L'obiettivo è quello di fornire, con una consistente attenzione all'analisi della fantastica, magica, ingegnosa produzione di Zeman, una visione approfondita su questo artista e il suo importante contributo al settore dell'animazione.
