Teoria della Mente e sordità. Come si sviluppa la Teoria della Mente nei bambini sordi?

This dissertation analyzes the theory of mind, which is the ability to attribute mental states such as emotions, thoughts, desires, and intentions to oneself and others and to predict one's own behavior and that of others based on such inferences, and the deafness by asking the following research question: "How does theory of mind develop in deaf children?". To attempt to answer this question, it will start with the first chapter describing the theory of mind in typical development; subsequently, the focus will shift to deafness and its related language development and, finally, the topic of theory of mind in relation to deafness will be addressed.

In questa dissertazione viene analizzata la teoria della mente, ossia la capacità di attribuire stati mentali come le emozioni, i pensieri, i desideri e le intenzioni a sé e agli altri e di prevedere il proprio comportamento e quello altrui grazie a tali inferenze, e la sordità ponendo la seguente domanda di ricerca: ‘Come si sviluppa la teoria della mente nei bambini sordi?’. Per provare a dare una risposta a questo interrogativo si partirà con il primo capitolo descrivendo la teoria della mente nello sviluppo tipico; successivamente si parlerà della sordità e relativo sviluppo del linguaggio e, infine, si affronterà il tema della teoria della mente legato alla sordità.
