Il percorso della persona assistita in attesa di trapianto di fegato: elaborazione di un video informativo

Introduction: A person awaiting a liver transplantation needs to receive adequate information due to the complexity and length of the pathway. To achieve this goal, the healthcare team uses various tools and the main one is the traditional interview. In recent years, researchers have investigated the possibility for patients to provide information regarding their health through alternative tools. In particular, the use of video has shown to be effective in providing information in the preoperative period. In addition, viewing the video is effective in giving greater awareness to the person, thus reducing preoperative anxiety. The preceding considerations justify the following thesis project, which aims is to produce an informative video in Italian, in which all the information that is provided during the interview with the Transplant Nurse coordinator for inclusion on the transplant list will be covered. The video, therefore, is intended as a support to the information already learned during the interview. Materials and Methods: To create the video content, the main databases were analyzed, and most recent scientific evidence was reviewed. For this project it was fundamental to participate in the interviews carried out by Transplant Nurse Coordinator (TNC) at the Turin Liver Transplant Center to include the patients in the waiting list. The video content was extracted from the interviews. Results: an informational video that comprehensively reviews all the topics covered during the interviews was made. The video was released on the YouTube channel of the Nursing Degree Course " Videoteca Infermieristica di Torino". The access to the video is restricted to users who possess the link provided directly by the Transplant Center. Discussion and Conclusions: the preoperative period is the ideal stage for providing adequate information because the psychological symptoms related to anxiety and fear may arise due to the uncertainty related to the surgery. Therefore, it is necessary to take preventive action by providing adequate information. The interview to explain informed consent can have a considerable emotional impact on the patient and their families. Both may not fully understand and remember all the information they have received, the video, therefore, will reinforce the information already learned and serve as an integrative tool for the Transplant Center of Turin.

Introduzione: la persona in attesa di trapianto di fegato necessita di ricevere un’adeguata informazione vista la complessità e la lunghezza del percorso. Per raggiungere questo obiettivo l’equipe sanitaria si avvale di diversi strumenti: il principale è il tradizionale colloquio orale. Negli ultimi anni è stata studiata la possibilità di fornire informazioni riguardanti la salute anche tramite strumenti alternativi. In particolare, l’utilizzo di video si è dimostrato efficace per fornire informazioni nel periodo preoperatorio. Inoltre, la visione del video risulta efficace nel dare maggior consapevolezza alla persona, riducendo così l’ansia preoperatoria. Le precedenti considerazioni giustificano il seguente progetto di tesi che ha come obiettivo la realizzazione di un video informativo in italiano. In quest’ultimo verranno ripercorse tutte le informazioni che vengono fornite durante il colloquio con il Transplant Nurse coordinator per l’inserimento in lista trapianto. Il video, quindi, si propone come supporto alle informazioni già apprese durante il colloquio. Materiali e metodi: per la realizzazione dei contenuti del video sono state analizzate le principali banche dati con la revisione delle più recenti evidenze scientifiche. Di fondamentale importanza è stata la possibilità di poter partecipare ai colloqui informativi per l’inserimento in lista con il Transplant Nurse Coordinator (TNC) presso il Centro Trapianti di Fegato di Torino, dai quali sono stati estrapolati i contenuti da inserire nel video. Risultati: è stato realizzato un video informativo che ripercorre in maniera mirata tutti gli argomenti trattati durante i colloqui. La pubblicazione è avvenuta sul canale YouTube “Videoteca infermieristica di Torino” del Corso di Laurea. La visione del video è limitata agli utenti in possesso del link fornito direttamente dal Centro trapianti. Discussione e Conclusioni: il periodo preoperatorio è la fase ideale in cui fornire un’adeguata informazione poiché potrebbero insorgere sintomi psicologici legati all’ansia e alla paura rispetto all’incertezza riguardo l’intervento. È necessario quindi, agire preventivamente fornendo un’adeguata informazione. Il colloquio per spiegare il consenso informato può avere un notevole impatto emotivo sulle persone che verranno inserite in lista e i loro familiari. Entrambi potrebbero non comprendere a pieno o ricordare tutte le informazioni ricevute, la visione del video, quindi, andrà a rafforzare le informazioni già apprese e potrà essere utilizzato come strumento integrativo dal Centro Trapianti di Torino.
