The consequences of M&A of multinational companies: The acquisition of control of Pirelli by ChemChina

Section I of this master thesis explores in general terms cross border mergers and acquisitions also with reference to the following topics: (i) the challenges facing Chinese outbound investments, and (ii) the role of corporate governance in M&A. Section II presents the case study Pirelli acquisition by ChemChina (the Transaction) and provides details on the players, the Transaction and its steps, the acquisition structure and the governance of the target post acquisition.
