Through the use of different theoretical approaches, this dissertation intends to analyze the Caporalato phenomenon in the bel paese. An overview on globalized food systems, their impact on this phenomenon and their history is given in the first chapter of the dissertation, while going deeper into the reading, the focus is on labor exploitation and caporalato itself. To give a better idea of the Italian situation, another chapter is entirely dedicated to the presentation of Italian projects whose aim is to end caporalato and labor exploitation in general.
