The origin of life is a matter of interest for scientists since years. Even if it is still unclear if life developed on Earth starting from molecules that were already present in the atmosphere or if the latter have been brought through spatial matter, it is verified that in the cosmos there are zones such as molecular clouds with advantageous condition for the synthesis of simple prebiotic molecules. In those region, gas and solid particles coexist and interact with each other through complex chemical reactions on the surface of the solid phase. Starting from this concept, our interest focused on the interaction between complex and stable molecules such as PAH, found in the gas phase around dust grains in the ISM, and silica samples, in accordance with spectroscopic detection of silicates as main components of the molecular clouds.

Abstract
The origin of life is a matter of interest for scientists since years. Even if it is still unclear if life developed on Earth starting from molecules that were already present in the atmosphere or if the latter have been brought through spatial matter, it is verified that in the cosmos there are zones such as molecular clouds with advantageous condition for the synthesis of simple prebiotic molecules. In those region, gas and solid particles coexist and interact with each other through complex chemical reactions on the surface of the solid phase. Starting from this concept, our interest focused on the interaction between complex and stable molecules such as PAH, found in the gas phase around dust grains in the ISM, and silica samples, in accordance with spectroscopic detection of silicates as main components of the molecular clouds.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
