Valutazione dell'efficacia dell'Adapted Cognitive Pragmatic treatment (A-CPT) in adolescenti e preadolescenti con ASD

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of Adapted Cognitive Pragmatic Treatment (A-CPT), a rehabilitation training of the communicative-pragmatic ability of adolescents and preadolescent with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Data on 32 adolescents with autism, who are verbally fluent, were analysed. Of these, 25 subjects took part in the experimental group and were evaluated before and after participation in the A-CPT, through the equivalent forms of the Assessment Battery for Communication (abaco), to test the effectiveness of treatment in improving communicative-pragmatic ability. In addition, tests of Theory of Mind (Tom) and cognitive tests (e.g., planning, working memory, selective attention) were administered, used as control measures. A preliminary control group was analysed, currently containing 7 adolescents with autism who did not take part in rehabilitation but only in the evaluation phases, to provide a regulatory benchmark and accurate evidence of the effectiveness of the programme.

L’obbiettivo del presente elaborato è valutazione dell’efficacia dell’Adapted Cognitive Pragmatic treatment (A-CPT), un training riabilitativo dell’abilità comunicativo-pragmatica di adolescenti e preadolescenti con Disturbo dello Spettro Autistico. Sono stati analizzati i dati relativi a 32 adolescenti affetti da autismo, verbalmente fluenti. Di questi, 25 soggetti hanno preso parte al gruppo sperimentale e sono stati valutati prima e dopo la partecipazione all’A-CPT, mediante le forme equivalenti dell’Assessment Battery for Communication (ABaCo), per verificare l’efficacia del trattamento nel migliorare l’abilità comunicativo-pragmatica. Inoltre, sono stati somministrati test di Teoria della Mente (ToM) e test cognitivi (ad esempio, di pianificazione, memoria di lavoro, attenzione selettiva), utilizzati come misure di controllo. È stato analizzato un preliminare gruppo di controllo, attualmente contenente 7 adolescenti con autismo che non hanno preso parte alla riabilitazione ma solo alle fasi di valutazione, atto a fornire un parametro di riferimento normativo ed evidenze accurate circa l’efficacia del programma.
